I visited Tom and Joe’s in downtown Altoona for the first time the other day. It was so hard to decide what to eat. Tom and Joe’s has a large variety of delicious food for breakfast and lunch. It was so hard to decide what to order because there was so many things that sounded delicious from their ‘breakfast mess’ (scrambled eggs mixed with home fries with a choice of meat) and omelets to their salads and grinders

I finally decided on a buffalo chicken omelet which came with homefries and toast. When the waitress set it down on the table, it made me question whether I could eat it all. The meal was delicious! I loved how the place had an atmosphere of an old time diner. You can either sit at a booth or table or at the counter where you can see some of the food be made on the grill. It is a great place to go if you are looking for great food and service.

At Tom and Joe’s restaurant there is a family atmosphere. It is a place where you wouldn’t be able to find anything like it. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting to get a taste of downtown has to offer. I will probably be making more trips there to try all of their amazing food. They are open Monday through Friday 7 am until 2 pm, Saturday 7 am until 1 pm, and Sunday 7 am until noon. Tom and Joe’s is located at 1201 13th Ave Altoona PA 16601.
