Penn State Altoona offers Business Training Programs

Penn State Altoona will offer three business training programs at the Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence in downtown Altoona.  Certificates and CEU’s will be awarded.

How to Lead Effective Meetings will be held Wednesday, April 8, 9-11:30 a.m. or 5:30-8 p.m. with Colleen Devorris, MBA, vice president of business strategy, Blair Companies.  Topics will include setting meeting guidelines, determining meeting objectives, developing an agenda, facilitating a team, taking meeting minutes, and clarifying action items.

Leading vs. Managing will be held Wednesday, May 6, 9–11:30 a.m. or 5:30-8 p.m. with John Park, D.ED., firm director, Management Consulting at Baker Tilly.  Topics include the importance of building leadership and management skills, factors contributing to individual and organizational success, leading in a changing environment, EQ and Leadership, and developing key leadership habits.

Implementing Change will be held Wednesday, June 24, 9–11:30 a.m. or 5:30-8 p.m. with presenter Maureen Dodson, Ph.D., senior manager, Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP.  Topics include characteristics of successful change initiatives, the role of paradigm shifts, the four stages of change, eight steps to effective change, resistance to change, and resiliency.
