The Greater Altoona Economic Development Corporation

Promoting Economic Development

The Greater Altoona Economic Development Corporation (GAEDC) focuses its efforts on the City of Altoona, but it also coordinates its activities with ABCD Corp.

Recognizing that promoting and encouraging Economic Development is a task that requires cooperation across municipal boundaries, GAEDC works closely with the Altoona Blair County Development Corporation (ABCD Corp) to promote both regional and City Economic Development.

ABCD Corporation

The Altoona Blair County Development Corporation is a private non-profit corporation working as a catalyst for business expansion in Blair County, Pennsylvania through regional partnerships along the I-99 Innovation Corridor.

City Economic Development

Within the City Limits, the ABCD Corporation has created the Devorris Center of Business Development, which provides space for start up business.

The ABCD Corporation also supervises the Keystone Opportunity Zone Activities within the City, which includes promoting the reuse of older vacant industrial properties, also called brownfields.
